>>354697I don't think there's a "type" of Breaking Bad fan, it's a show with mass appeal because it's simply one of the greatest TV kinos. Viewers liked the world and character building so much so that it was successfully continued in Better Call Saul.

>>354729>Breaking Bad is definitely a masterpieceit really isn't
the first season was definitely decent, the character motivations weren't forgotten about and the drama made sense, but starting with season 2 the show began losing it's focus more and more until it entered a self-referential state of atrophy by season 5, that's how we got the stupid nazis out of nowhere with the hamfisted child death and jessies slavery to redeem walt for whatever reason

my opinion has changed when i was rewatching breaking bad recently, i used to think it was a masterpiece too, but a show that has poor rewatch value isn't a masterpiece, even it it's good.
the plot starts getting more and more nonsensical, like the plane crash plot (which was the worst way to handle walts guilt over his drug dealing), most characters like walt, hank, jessie or marie become more irritating to watch as their actions get progressively more and more stupid, and all the "intense" scenes either do nothing on rewatch or just get tiring. you also start to notice things such as the montages being padding for time with how often they're used, time which could've been spent building context or exploring characters but whatever. my criticism with breken bad is genuine, im not being a contrarian for the sake of being one.

>>354793damn nigga u STUPID or sumn? okay let me explain to you
"rewatch value" depends on whether the show has hidden subtleties like innuendos in dialog, subtle plotlines etc. and/or if it's pacing and scenes don't become tiring/overwhelming on rewatch. basically if the show gets better every time you rewatch it.
breken bad definitely doesnt have the latter and in fact rewatching the show is a worse experience. since you're no longer wowed by the action and the plot twists and turns you start to notice all the shitty mistakes more.

All the popular shows of its time like TWD, GOT, Dexter all shat the bed in later seasons and ended poorly which is ehy they aren't remembered well. Breaking bad was consistent im quality, didnt go on too long and had a decent end which is seen as a great thing because everyone else sucked at endings.
