I'm 41, watching this video definitely makes me miss internet 1.0. I'm talking 90s to early 2000s, mainly the days of geocities, sure you'd get a lot of crummy looking websites but at least it showed personality. Now, with the proliferation of AI and social media, the internet is a sanitized corporate landscape.
>>153526 By not watching the video I'd assume the video skips to the 2016 or 2019 era when liberals were on damage control and not early when they funded echochambers for the mentally unstable.
I went to a friend's house the other day and they had those $50 ring cameras in the kitchen, in the living room, and even one in the bedroom, as well as a front door camera that can pick up audio from across the street. Like, what are you doing that you're so paranoid, are you CIA?? Jeeeze…
>>153605 There are some scenarios where having a security camera inside the house might make sense. If you've got a babysitter coming in to watch the children, etc. But for the most part, yeah, it's pure paranoia.
I was born in 1990 but only got my own computer and internet connection in 2006 I think. Before that, I only used the internet in cybercafé, at school or at friends' and cousins' houses. During the later 90s and before 2006 I used to join forums to talk about cartoons and sci-fi shows like Stargate SG1, Lost, etc with dudes in their 40s and I never had any problem with pedos or people just being cunts for no reason. Or with a friend to make fun of Indians online or find some sites like Encyclopedia Dramatica, Uncyclopedia and others long gone or save pictures and memes which helped my imagination and humor a lot. Nowadays the internet is worse than ever, with so many people using it, being so calcified and full of bitter people.
>>153533 >>153549 The Internet peaked in the 2000s. >>153620 >Encyclopedia Dramatica, Uncyclopedia I first learned about imageboards through ED. I knew about Uncyclopedia before that, but I didn't find it all that funny once I found ED.
