as titled. maybe pencil or wax crayon. i use HB pencils but they glossed too much under light so they scan terribly, so i need something less glossy but not graphite as theyre smudging…
any brand/ name recommendatyions?

something that makes grey in multiple shades, dry, and smudging, not smearing not glossing.

Playing around with india ink might be your go too. You can dilute it with water to get the level of grayscale that you want.
