>>12414I was a big advocate of Wii Sports bowling back in the day, I played it with friends, family, everyone I know. Nothing since has come close to that level of engagement, sports-wise.

>sports are fundamental to this medium
Pretty sure they're the literal opposite of this medium.

>>12414I'm going to download the latest eFootball update later tonight, apparently it pays homage to Winning Eleven, so it's finally a good enough reason for me to play this after months of losing interest, the lack of offline just makes eFootball worthless to me, wish they'd just make a Winning Eleven 2026 already… maybe if many download this update they'll see there's a demand for it?
Bomba Patch 2026 would be great too!

>>12642Well, the eFootball update had a single cool element, the recreation of the OG Winning Eleven, AKA Goal Storm, at least on the graphical side, but with modern gameplay… charming, but it'll die on the next update and I'll never be able to replay it, which is why I hate the idea of GAAS that Konami embraced for the IP, also the rest of the update, the tribute to such a major IP, is just player cards for people to buy with microtransactions… fucking LAME. I'm going back to the classics, eFootball's still garbage.

>>12941>you watch the game, you don't see him>you watch him, you see the whole gameI'm a barcafag but I always think this del Bosque quote was way overblown by most Barcelona fans. Busquets was one the best defensive midfielders sure, but he wasn't this football god they kept claiming he is. He was at his best years with the club because there were also two of the generation's best midfielders in front of him. All football fans will overly glaze players they like and overly hate players they dislike, but with Barca fans it's way worse than just that, it is as if they are personally offended that Cristiano Ronaldo even existed. I also dislike the fact that too many Barca fans are Americans and Brits only latching on to the club because of its ties to dead Spanish commies.

>>12986With Barcelona you can't even be just a regular fan of the club's signature playing style, tactical modifications by their respective coaches or even just the multitude of superstar players they have had, you also have to larp as a Catalan neocommie redditor and it pisses me off. You're even forced to give a shit about their female football league. What these secondaries don't even know is the Catalonia independence thing was never about anti-fascism or even a class struggle of peasants vs the elite. Catalonia was always one of the wealthiest principalities in the region over the centuries and the Catalans considered themselves pretty much the Iberian Burgundians, only to finally ask Daddy Spain to help when their overeager nobles bit more than they can chew against the Habsburgs.

>>13001It turned into a very Reddit club over the years sadly. Football wise I still love them for a variety of reasons, but I agree there's a lot surrounding the club and fanbase which can be annoying, which is why I often find myself supporting Madrid in El Classicos.

No.13013
>>13012It's not good because it's popular, but it being the most popular in the world is a sign that there must be some quality to it, it's appealing to a wide variety of people and there's merit in that. Also, your main argument was that it was "3rd world" and my claim of it being the most popular in Europe goes against that. What sports you think are better and why? I'd love to hear.

With PS3 onwards, it became more difficult for people to make alternative versions of FIFA and Winning Eleven, It was quite popular in the PS2 era for you and some friends to make a modified and updated version of the teams and sell or give them as gifts to your friends.
