It sort of is, no matter how many people glaze over the new flashy with an oversaturated bright filter videogame, in the long run those first-party exclusives bring nothing new on the table. Super Smash Ultimate comes to mind, so many people were more hyped over who's gonna' be playable in the game rather than the game itself, like e-cheerleaders who either never laid a finger on the game during launch or completely moved on to the new brain-drain ad campaign.
