Transition, for me, wasn't about finding a new personality. It was about finding a way to keep on living free from the constant weight of dysphoria. I've been asymptomatic since transitioning, and that's allowed me to focus on life and work without that distraction. But transition isn't a cure-all. It won't fix a broken life. Before anyone goes down that path, the basics matter-diet, sleep, exercise, community, spirituality.
My views continue to evolve, but for now this is my current opinion: transition is sometimes necessary, often misunderstood, and never something to take lightly.
