Ordinary people are frustrating in their complacency, submissiveness, and lack of curiosity, so I completely understand that sentiment. There are a decent amount of them who have valuable skills that most of us lack though. It seems to be the outliers who shape history, but we need great men who are looking out for the interests of the common man too. You can't have a society full of atypical people.

What avenues are really out there though? I think it's important to help guide Internet political discourse the way imageboard culture had a hand in doing in the 2010s, which is definitely important, but I don't know where else to go. I like what projects like Return to the Land are doing, but I don't share their values outside the racial stuff and might be too autistic and curmudgeonly for them anyway.

I would die too. I don't even think I'd be interested in staying alive in a post-apocalyptic setting. Ted Kaczynski criticized the "surrogate activities" of modern life, but frankly I'd much rather be able to engage in hobbies that interest me in my spare time than be reduced to trying to eke out the bare minimum for existence.

Do you have anything in mind? I got an Urbit planet years ago, and the userbase seemed much better than the standard Internet, but I don't think self-hosting is even an option anymore unless you buy expensive dedicated hardware. It just doesn't seem practical. On top of that, I can't say I like the involvement of people like Moldberg and Peter Thiel.

I just decided to look it up, and it looks like there was a mass exodus from Urbit several years ago. I'm really not surprised.
