I learned about this song a year or two ago, and the creepy atmosphere stuck with me. It ended up getting banned from a bunch of radio stations.

This song has really grown on me over the years and is a Halloween staple.

This is right up my alley. Why do you think it was banned? I mean lyrically it's in the vein of Blue Oyster Cult - Don't Fear the Reaper, and that has always gotten plenty of play.

I think it's more gruesome than that. It might seem pretty tame today, but I can't imagine there were very many songs about bleeding to death in a hospital back then.

Part of it also comes just comes down to the creepy sound of it. Back in the '50s stations banned "Rumble" by Link Wray even though it was an instrumental. Apparently just the title and raucous guitar playing for the time were enough to justify it.

I'm not in the mood for spook stuff, OP, but I appreciate how you are hyped with Halloween.

Most of their fans don't like this album, but is my favorite of them.
