More technical aspects of music productionSo it seems this board is more about sharing music and less about making music. Let's change that up a bit.
Metal ThreadWhat are some bands that are musically similar to Lost Horizon? I haven't been able to find anyone else like them, and it's upsetting that they only put out two albums before they disbanded. Daniel Heiman recently did an album with some Danish guys and while the vocals are there, it's not what I was expecting and I realized that it needs those high-flying drums and guitars along with (for lack of a better term) the uplifting/godlike lyrics it comes with. They're undoubtedly my favorite band and I would love to find more like them.
ITT good songs with awful music videosTake a look at the 'reimagined' videos for Unknown Pleasures:
/mu/zach klub 15:animorph collection>animorph collection is a gay band made for gay people. pitchfork and other shitty music journalist platforms pretended to like this shitty band to seem "inclusive," "open," and "progressive" and ignored the actual quality of the music.
weekly /mu/zach klub 13: Koopsta Knicca - Da Devil's Playground>Phillips released a solo album produced by DJ Paul, Da Devil's Playground in 1994. The album was later mostly re-recorded as well as remastered in 1999 featuring some new songs and losing a couple as well. Unable to make shows & videos due to legal issues, he left Three 6 Mafia in 2000.
weekly /mu/zach klub 12: Macho Man - Be a Man>Be a Man is the debut studio album by American professional wrestler "Macho Man" Randy Savage. It was released on October 7, 2003 by Big3 Records. The song "My Perfect Friend" was written as a tribute to "Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig, while the title track is a diss song aimed at Hulk Hogan. The album was critically panned.

3TEETHI knew he was edgy and I enjoyed his music but he's even more based than I thought. Obviously an anon, and a relatively smart one at that, firm but nuanced and rational. I hope he gets more gigs tbh.
Changing an album's track orderI went back listened to the Beatles for the first time in years and one thing that bothered me a little was how, for a few years, they wouldn't put some of the best songs they made during an album's recording session on the album itself so they could release them as singles. Why they couldn't put them on the album and release them as singles I don't know. Either way, I feel the albums where they did this suffered as a result so I thought about where I put them on the albums and which tracks I would have them replace. After some experimenting, this is what I think is the best way do that. In the case of the White Album, I trimmed it down to a single album like George Martin wanted. Are there any tracks that add/remove/rearrange on certain albums?
weeky /mu/zach klub 5: Anonymoose - Tomahawk>3rd album by one of Mike Patton's various projects. Based off indian music, which guitarist Duane Denison got into while touring indian reservations with Hank Williams III. He was disappointed that minorities were capable of playing normal music instead of hitting turtle shells and chanting gibberish. Denison and the rest of the band took it upon themselves to culturally appropriate music that minorities stop giving a shit about to earn white guilt points and get a good score on pitchfork.
Current mainstream pop music worth listening toI'm mostly an 80s fan but there's a few modern artists I really enjoy that keep putting out good music instead of the forced garbage that most do, usually with rappers and music that couldn't catch on if the media didn't shill it 24/7. Very few artists today release hits comparable to the torrent of hits that the 80s were, but I'm sure those few will be remembered by nostalgics 40 years for now.
