I've been a Sam Hyde fan for years since the mirror skit days. I've defended him through all the bullshit - because deep down I wanted to believe he could make it, that he had a unique comedic voice. But after watching what happened on the Harland Highway podcas, the full on manchild tantrum, the mental breakdown, it's obvious Sam's not okay.
Fishtank was his last real shot, but honestly, it was borderline illegal and should never have aired. The whole thing was dangerous and Sam's behavior only made it worse. And then there are the Marky allegations hanging over him, which just adds to the whole mess. People say he's on roids, and honestly, it makes sense. The mood swings, the violent outbursts - they aren't just part of some edgy persona. This is a serious mental and emotional breakdown playing out in real time.
It kills me to say it, but Sam needs to be put under conservatorship. Not as a punishment, but as protection from himself. Harland Williams is the only one I can see stepping up here. He's calm, humble, steady - a strong, masculine presence that Sam desperately needs. Maybe Harland can be the father figure Sam always needed but never got. Someone who can finally ground him, and give him the stability and guidance that's been missing for so long.
