>>366462>The blame's not only on the modsI fail to see what they did wrong on the site, they do their job of deleting illegal crap and keeping things relatively readable. The main problem this site had and still has is autistic bad actors with grudges against the userbase who are still angry that they were unable to turn the site against its administration.
nuzach, emojitroon Also they can't stop the turn of time and the fact that we are a finite userbase that slowly but surely has lost its users over this half a decade. Things are inherently bleak because people on the webring never forgot that their home was destroyed, it got soured early on, and the interest in making OC basically stuttered into nothing for the most part. Combine that with people getting older and having more real life obligations, and it makes sense why we only get a few quality discussion posts a day. We have been experiencing a relatively fun renaissance with ramonposting in spite of the blight.
>The main problem is the webring modelThat model was fine as it served as a good way to prevent potential take-downs, not perfect like the proposed distributed image board ideas during its infancy but most devs lost interest/gave up.
>All of the boards are dead or dyingYeah, it was like that before Fullchan died, the old internet as a whole dried up after dup for the most part and the anons were rather content with ceding control of what is now called the dissident right and memes in general to normalfags. Why? Cause none of us did anything about it in the long run. Can't entirely blame anons when there is little to no unity among even boards themselves.
Any time anyone did try, no one wanted to unite. What united us before was a crusade like Gamergate, a crusade like Dup, that doesn't exist anymore. You can see how 8chan just fell apart after both those ended. Long term they were also both massive failures as they essentially commercialized internet culture forever and destroyed any chance of the long term preservation of the quality hobbyism that imageboards spread and maintained for the golden age of the internet.
The truth was most anons were okay with this slow death, most anons didn't care, if you did care like I did you probably got swept away paying attention on the site/using other platforms and constantly trying to come up with a plan for unity only to come to the same conclusion. The fact is most people used 8chan for their fetishes or free speech, they also used it because it was a sort of autistic cozy home, a family. This family was long shattered when the site died, it no longer existed then, and it's a far-flung memory now.
Now Discord provides the sort of family in the form of walled gardens, Twitter provides degenerate porn and free speech, proper edgy racism or whatever casual forms of politics one might be into, the whole shit flinging is all there. Internet Caesars like Fuentes fully co-opted the right-wing into a cult of personality that will fall apart when the Jews kill him, and this was exactly what /pol/ was supposed to prevent but /pol/ fragmented well over a decade ago and after Tarrant's spergout no one wanted to host something like it again. There was never a proper bedrock for those ideas to grow and be maintained, whenever someone tried to make it people rejected it. Proper alternatives to 8chan like Endchan existed, but no exodus occurred, no exodus occurred in full to the webring even when it was established and then when Mark and the other pedos caused some drama most left forever to the mainstream platforms because above all else they aren't true believers they just wanted convenience.
Ever attempted to advertise to potential new users? If you thought it was hard to recruit anons in 2014-2015, the average zoomers of today are often so subhuman that it's impossible for them to truly be initiated into legacy Fullchan customs/traditions. Our well of spark's was drying up then, and it doesn't even exist today. We're an endangered species and if you want to know the future of imageboards it's soyjak.party, which at this point has devolved into "witchhunts" over retarded shit and "owning trannies" rather than do any long term strategic damage like we used to try to by doxxxing /trannypol/. I used to see a lot of promise in it, but at this point it will become cuckchan 2.0 mixed with the worst aspects of trannyfarms. That's because they didn't have a concept for gatekeeping so they allowed their entire organic userbase to be replaced with normalfags from cuckchan, discord, and kiker. All of a sudden, it becomes more apparent as to why the anons here would rather stay in their digital fallout vaults and just wait to die.
