Federation as a tool to overcome censorship only works if the individual components of the federation are willing to federate on a broad basis without carving out exceptions. If you don't like the censorious hotpocketeering on certain components of the federation, more robust federation is the solution you should support. The point is a federation gives group members the option to revolt against tyrannical censorship by moving to other groups which the federation makes easy. It's a way of both empowering individual group members and holding jannies accountable with the legitimate threat of migration. A rank hypocrisy is manifest when individuals claim to like free speech out of one side of their mouths and then attempt to justify the ostracism from a federated community of groups they have disagreements with.

There isn't a spark that remains besides over here on tvch, I would love growth and rebirth, but we would risk replacing our userbase and traditions with those of inferior ones. I tried outreach near half a decade ago to no avail.

Another thing you misunderstand is that most nodes on the webring kinda just want a retirement home/hugbox to retreat, a sort of walled-garden without it being a walled garden. Users would rather be under the rule of tyrannical mods if they can post specific porn or don't want to see certain opinions. We are in the minority of humanity in general.

8chan's main comradery came from the fact that /pol/'s friendly cross-posting pre-exodus on halfchan made everyone redpilled, it created a small intellectual elite that spearheaded the early success of gamergate and memed dup into the Oval Office/brexit. The problem was when those movements began to break down the shitty administration and jannies along with the subhuman anarchist types broke down that limited spirit. With Gamergate's failure and Trump/Brexxit proven to nothing more than a cultural swing rather than a true political victory, anons retreated to their hobbies. Kampfy broke up /pol/ with his faggotry, evidently making /trannypol/ and the other intellectual political boards. Christian/Abrahamic crap also took their root in subverting stuff.

It was a grand crusade and rebellion that kept 8chan's spirit together, without something like that there is nothing to unify and make us whole again. In the end we lost because the internet we loved was sold away, our culture was made into normalfags chew-toys, most anons gave up and went to twitter and pisscord.

I'm not sure how you could rally the remaining anons on the other nodes to actually make something/communicate, and you would get interference from the /intl/-tier dweebs from zzzchan who would inevitably try to muddy the waters.

Call me jaded, but I don't have a lot of faith. Anons just seem to be lazy, they couldn't bother to move to Endchan when it was exposed what kike's Watkins was, when Robi offered to set up alternative nodes on the webring when he wanted to downsize his they ruined /v/ forever. Tvch was and still is a better alternative to halfchan, but because there wasn't enough bots spamming, they returned there after a week and a half. In addition there were always altchan anons looking for new opportunities to build alternatives to 4chan whenever possible and we jumped at the opportunity.

I think the admins and mods of the various chans get bought off by CREST and other research groups and/or the feds. Actually I see gamergay as more of a last stand of the Samurai Nerds than anything, normalfags won in the end, they destroyed geimus, they took over the internet. I would argue the five guys threads only turned into gamergay due to metokikes video series that started it off, I would also say it was /pol/'s memetics that allowed it to gain early victories. It failed due to /v/'s big tent faggotry and being incapable of doing anything right. They were the same board that allowed themselves to be ruled by mark and actively tried to undermine all alternatives, after all.
