I saw this yesterday. Let me start by saying, I like Glover. The man is a good actor. Everybody else in this movie was good in it as well, I have zero issue with the cast or their performance. The setting was also nice, even with there being one too many fucking niggers on the screen in some scenes.
For a movie that's supposed to be akin to a nightmare and a take on life, I get it, I get the themes, and I liked when the expression of these themes worked. Unfortunately, the biggest part of this movie are the parts where the themes don't work. Not at the fault of the actors, but at the fault of the editing. Again, the parts of the movie that are good are really good, but then there are so many other parts of the movie that could've been cut down or reshot or reallocated to something else. I get that Glover's character is living the microchosm of life in the hotel and parts of life can be retardedly orchestrated or awkwardly timed, but that's not what's going on in some of these scenes. It's just bad editing and it drags the movie down from where it belongs. Had it been edited better, had their been more emphasis on the feverish dream it was meant to evoke, this would have been a marvelous movie. Instead, it ends up as merely alright. I'd still recommend it, I just wish it was better.

>>363648I was let down by it when I got it, but Glover had good music. It just sucks that the gameplay never gelled with me.
