I've found that old sitcoms are by far the best shows to watch while falling asleep at night. But not all are equally suited to this purpose. So, I've made something of a guide for anons looking for good sleep material.
>The Donna Reed Show
Fantastic sleep material. It's so uninteresting that I fall asleep almost immediately. I've watched through the entire series multiple times and I still have no idea what the show is about or who the characters are. The only thing I remember is an episode where Buster Keaton guest stared as a janitor or something. The only downside is it's black and white and falling asleep to black and white shows can feel weird sometimes. And I'm afraid that if I fall asleep to black and white shows too much I'll start dreaming in black and white like the boomers did.

>Ozzie and Harriet
Another black and white show. It'll do the job but the voices of some of the characters can be irritating when you're trying to fall asleep.

>Leave it to Beaver
See above.
7/10
>The Honeymooners
Too interesting.
3/10
>Green Acres
Would not recommend. The show it too energetic to fall asleep to and the theme song WILL wake you up every time an episode begins or ends.
2/10
>The Dick Van Dyke Show
Too interesting.
4/10
>The Mary Tyler Moore Show
The early seasons can put you to sleep, but starting around season 3 or 4, it becomes too interesting.
5/10
>The Bob Newhart Show
Generally not that interesting but every now and then there's an episode that will make you pay attention while trying to fall asleep.
6/10
>Car 54 Where Are You?
Only about half of the episodes are boring enough to fall asleep to and the theme song has the same problem as Green Acres
5/10
>Beverley Hillbillies
This is pretty sleepable, but the ending song where they're all waving at the camera is kind of creepy.
8/10
>Night Court
Terrible. It's not interesting but it is very annoying. I couldn't even sleep through the first season. A failure on every level
1/10
>Cheers
Too interesting
4/10
>Taxi
Too interesting.
4/10
>Dennis the Menace
I don't even remember watching this, so it must have worked well.
8/10
>The Golden Girls
This could have been the perfect sleep material, but they ruined it by constantly having heavy handed episodes about social issues which make the show too irritating to fall asleep to.
4/10
>The Andy Griffith Show
Extremely comfy and relaxing, but the black and white episodes are usually too interesting to fall asleep to. The color seasons, however, are great sleep material. Their whole vibe reminds of napping on the weekends in my youth.
B&W seasons: 5/10
Color seasons: 10/10
>Hogan's Heroes
This is what I'm sleeping through right now. It's alright so far. The theme songs is a bit too loud, but I've been sleeping pretty good.
