Post the best sea monsters on film

 No.366214

Dreamworks Sinbad

 No.366255

If you think supersharks count as sea monsters, then Deep Blue Sea was decent, if nothing else, because it killed off the annoying female lead and allowed the token nigger to survive. Or if you would allow allusions to the Deep Ones, then Dagon.

It's fascinating because I'd say it was only loosely based on both the Dagon short story and Shadow Over Innsmouth, but was a more faithful adaptation of both (especially of the latter) when compared to other Lovecraft movies. They also picked the perfect actress to play Uxia because Macarena Gomez already looks like a woman with early (or perhaps delayed) onset of the Innsmouth look. There's also a subtle reference to Lovecraft's dislike of miscegenation in the film: Barbara and Vicki, the two human women who got Dagon'd were both blondes, while Pablo always looked mystery meat-ish from the start.
