You could give post-dementia Bruce Willis a camera and he'd make a more compelling movie than Tarantino. There Will Be Blood doesn't suffer because of Dano, it suffers because it's a badly written movie with no point other than Tarantino is an edgy faggot.

Big agree, there will be blood sucked. I just don't think I got it. It felt like the movie's entire premise was "Make the audience hate Daniel Plainview". Which I did. I thought the protagonist was a complete piece of shit.

I just then went like… so? Why was this worth making into a movie? Why did they want me to think that? It showed an unrepentant asshole being an unrepentant asshole. For what purpose?
