Well, the second was released, just not theatrically. And it was complicated further by this latest sequel being released as "the true to sequel" to the first film Canto Uno, as if Intermezzo (the cunnilingus one) has just been retconned. That being said, people who have seen Canto Due say that it's ending can be read as giving the faintest of hints that all the nightclub shit in Intermezzo takes place after the events of Canto Due, so who the fuck knows. Kechiche said Intermezzo will never get a proper release in his lifetime, but that his successors might release it, but given that Bau's approval was central to getting Canto Due released after all these years, I can't imagine that she'd take that lying down.
