All have some writing or pacing problems, but still enjoyable. All the remakes are decent regardless of genre, solid 6 or 7.

I have no experience with Kurosawa at all. The Seven Samurai is one I should watch if I can venture a bit out of my comfort zone. I've never watched a samurai movie at all that I can think of.

It's good, but Rashomon is even better. Every time someone adapts the idea of characters retelling an event dishonestly with idealized versions of themselves it's either thought provoking or hilarious.

I am not an educated man, so forgive my choice of words. A more educated man can probably write essay about the effectiveness of his camera work, framing, techniques, etc.
