I kind of want to nominate this, but is it obscure enough to qualify? It's not something famous like The Birth of a Nation, Gone With the Wind, The General, or even Glory, but it's also not as unknown with the general public as some made-for-TNT flick like Andersonville, Ironclads, or The Hunley. It's kino aside from the moon cricket character though.

I was thinking Bloody Bill Anderson made an appearance in the movie and was going to look up the actor and compare the two, but I was confused and must have been thinking of The Outlaw Josey Wales, where he does appear but is played by an actor who's way too old for the role. The real Bill Anderson died before he was even 25.
