What comic artists and cartoonists do you enjoy, /art/?

 No.733

I don't get it.

 No.734

I had to look it up because I was sure I had seen something about that a few years ago. It's a brony thing where they jerk off on the pony and fill the jar up, and I guess drink it after it's full.

I don't know about the drinking part but the brony freak also put it near a radiator and it heated up turning even more disgusting, a brown liquid.

Hello, Lee Goldson! I've since picked up on your mannerisms on many a 8chan boards, back when you were briefly exiled from 4cuck. How is your Holy Crusade coming along?

Anons' Pie Adventure is quite the modern epic! Pic related, its artstyle is quite refined for a mere webcomic hosted on SadPanda and select /mlp/ and /mlpol/ threads.

Lee shall not respond, lest someanon summons him from the depths of Mount Doomworld Forums, drawing his ire to this thread in the small corner of internet lands known as TVchan. Only from Doomworld Private Messaging may his ears listen to tip-offs, and he shall respond to TVchan as he once did 8chan.

If anyone hasn't read K.C. Green's "The Anime Club" I would strongly suggest it. Very much one of the most enjoyable independent comics I've read in a while. I really like the comic's art style and pacing, there's a visual narrative flow that is really comfortable to read and at times quite cleaver. Plus I ran with the anime crowd in HS too so it's #relatable

I agree as well, comics are often an overlooked medium and can be amazingly profound. And I don't mean graphic novels. If trash mountains can be artful commentary, so can an internet doodle.

I've always been a fan of Robert Kirkman's work. Something about his style I've always enjoyed looking at, I think it might be the sort of angular nature of his figures or just the quality of his line work, but it's always given me a somewhat familiar and cozy feeling, regardless of what the image itself depicts. His walking dead series is what got me into comic books to begin with.

I'll keep this short since I don't know if I'm crossing the line into /tv/ or not with this, but the show is pretty great animation wise (though it does get a bit pozzed by ep 3)

It's sort of a mixed media, since all the importance pieces are drawn while background images or minor pieces are done with a CGI. They even just hold frames for a while and move them so give the illusion of animation. You can kinda see it in the clip posted, but there's one establishing shot later on in the show when they're in their high school cafeteria and the main characters are drawn out and animated cleanly in the center frame, while cgi cartoon models litter the area around. It's noticeable if you actually look for it, but not so much that it catches your attention immediately. It works well enough, if you're a fan of the comic you might get a kick out of the show for the sole merit of them sticking to the artistic style and closely as budget would allow.

I like Ben's hatching and style, for something so detailed in shadowing it does have this impression that he cranked it all out in just under an hour or so. Not saying it's sloppy but there is a sense of haste in his aesthetic to meet that weekly deadline that I admire.

I finally got a Little Nemo collection, and the artwork makes up for how bad the dialogue and expository text are.

Also, I came across this Dream of the Rarebit Fiend strip. Would McCay have been an /r9k/ poster if he were still alive?

Newspaper comics really seem to have had more potential than most of their creators made use of. I know that they weren't all Marmaduke and Family Circus, but still.
