Share games from your past that you still have fond memories of.
For years I tried to find this game again, I remember my mother taking me to a niche store called Fantasia which was a movie and video game rental store and also sold cameras and other electronics. This was one of the many SNES games I rented there and left strong memories in me.

I grew up with the SEGA Disney titles and loved them, they were mostly great afterall… but man, now that I'm finally getting into the Nintendo titles by Capcom, I can see what I missed out on. I've finished DuckTales and DuckTales 2 recently, both NES and Game Boy versions, and they're sublime, I wish there was more, anyways QuackShot, Lucky Dime Caper or even Deep Duck Trouble are still ahead for me, but these titles were great and I wish I played them then, glad I finally did.

SEGA and Capcom at their peaks… man, us Disney fans were eating good in the 90's, huh? I miss those days.

I miss how card game video games used to be RPGs where cards acted as the Lv. and XP, with you gradually getting better cards for your deck and being able to beat stronger opponents, Yu-Gi-Oh! especially was great for me, though Shandalar was good for Magic: the Gathering and Pokemon TCG 1 and 2 on GBC were also great… now all of them are just PvP focused online F2P titles that want you to spend a ton on microtransactions, with offline being an afterthought.

Yugioh has some great titles, I particularly liked, World Championship 2008 and Tag Force Special.
There is a spiritual successor to Shandalar called MTG Forge, I haven't played it though. It's apparently pretty fleshed out.
The pokemon games are pretty neat too, I played the first one and I imagine 2 is more of the same.
I steer clear of any tcg video games anymore other than Hearthstone for the reasons you described. Hearthstone actually made a lot of solo adventure content and it was great, but they gave up on it and haven't released any more in three years or so. The game balance also sucks now so I wouldn't recommend HS to any new players.

MTG Forge is fan made from what I recall, looks good indeed. It's a shame, but sadly every company goes where the money is, and this is what most consumers seem to want, so we're stuck with the current state of things. Of course, fan projects will always be cool, but it's be so cool to see what could happen if classic design sensibilities had modern hardware and budget.

AA in ZH has so much range it can fire off fog of war/shroud
GLA rely too much on tunnels, this offsets it & gives a chance for airpad opener

You can actually nullify this thing completely by shooting the ground with another weapon that leaves contamination as soon as it explodes (either a toxin tractor or nuke cannon) but you have to be fast. In mods that give you better AA units with more damage the faster you get those the safer you will be

We lived out in the boonies so no computer stores nearby except the place my dad worked as some data entry clerk, who only had a BBS so he could communicate with his boss and coworkers, but also let us kids get sharewares and occasionally bought us full versions to (for example) Gladiator, Commander Keen, and Walls of Bratock. My brother figured out how to pirate all the episodes of Doom and Doom 2, but other than that it was sharewares all day every day when my dad wasn't working.
