It's true that china is quickly running out their window of attacking Taiwan, but that's moreso because of impending financial crises and a reproduction problem compounding on an already massive aging problem.
Their war time economy might be able to prop up the country for a little bit, but turning yourself into an international pariah when you're a massive net importer of food is just asking to be turned into north korea. And this isn't even getting into any potential war where china will have to fight with material that, if what they export to the russians is any indication, is exactly the sort of cheap garbage you expect them to produce.

Also they can just wait 20 years and the median age in Taiwan will be 54 with an inverted population pyramid destroying the social services and economy of the country. All China has to do to win without ever firing a shot is court the youth of Taiwan by offering better jobs, potential mainland brides/husbands and subsidized tuition in mainland universities. They're doing that right now and it's working, by giving the Taiwanese youth few reasons to hate them a 'brother war' will be difficult to instigate between them by outsiders.
