The jews might be trying to finally shut it down.

Since they are losing in the courts, as usual the kikes will resort to actual real world solutions. Until the gentiles can fight fire with fire they will continue to lose.

While jews are involved as usual this is entirely of their own doing for lending out digital copies of books the rights holders had a legal claim to during the COVID lockdowns. That wasn't an accident or oversight and at the time many observers correctly pointed out that they'll be spending tens of millions per year in legal battles for a decade or more leaving little spend on archiving.
Those big publishing companies need to keep the fiction of 'intellectual property' going. Some quasi government agency that's given permission to break copyright laws for the benefit of the public is going to become a target and is easy enough to kill.
>>149428I've seen their archived web pages on controversial topics removed from public circulation years ago. I'd rather see it shut down than be used to create fake historical evidence.

(((Capitalism))) has always had a love/hate relationship with libraries. They pay lip service to universal access to books, but when something like the open library comes along, allowing book lending on an industrial scale, and they realize it cuts into their profits, they don't like it.
No.149468
>>149467doesn't make sense because I can go to my local library and get any book for free so this lawsuit is about control on an industrial scale, not profits.

Another big racket that's unbelievably still going is college textbooks. Remember when quackademics crow about climate change and sustainability, that they still hypocritically enforce this anachronistic system of exploiting college students, by forcing them to buy new print editions of textbooks with each academic year, at ripoff prices, when what they should be doing is putting everything into e-book format so students can use their tablets or e-readers and save money, and trees, for that matter.

>>149472Ereaders replacing physical books would end in this kind of future:
https://www.gnu.org/philosophy/right-to-read.en.htmlAnd that's already the case in some medical colleges, students are required to buy new digital textbooks every year with only few changes to the order or numbering of questions. Any form of copying, sharing when studying with other students, reading any part out loud and rereading it after the expiry date are all against the terms of service. Lose access to the textbook and you can't finish the class.

>>149503Nice story, the only problem I have is, in that future, it would probably be a crime in itself to cover the computer's webcam to prevent the authorities from being able to view who is using it at all times.
The article raises a lot of good points. Ideally they just need better price regulations on these textbooks, and instead of publishing new editions every year, they could perhaps email students any necessary addendums pertaining to new research or discoveries in the relevant subjects. That way, used books would still be an option for 5 years or so.

The availability of textbooks is an interesting case as major AI companies are using illegal online archives to train their models as the cost for proper licensing would be many times more than the electricity costs and hardware combined of all their supercomputers currently in use. Right now those tech companies have more real power than publishing companies and can get away with it or drag it out in various courts for decades and pay whatever fines they are given. My suspicion is that those illegal archives were created and are run by the state with plausible deniability to help find and recruit cyber warfare assets, attacking the lawful public archives is a way to create more demand for the illegal ones.

They did the same with Tartaria, they built their pathetic cities on top of the ruins of the ancient civilization of giants and they will do the same with the internet.
The world has undergone multiple cataclysms over time, with clandestine cult groups going underground each time and coming out after to usurp power… as well rewrite history.
West Coast is purposefully being fucked up and made chaotic as possible because it's the marching grounds of the old oriental peoples of East Asia that crossed the land mass from modern Russia to America. People think we started from East to west when in fact, the east and west collided and the American political gang destroyed Tartaria and all of its grand creations.
There is overwhelming evidence of some kind of event which buried a lot of buildings in different corners of the world in thick layers of soil, i.e. mudflood. In many cases there are buildings or foundations of building which are excavated which are only 200 years old but completely covered with soil.
Great Tartaria will rise again, stronger than ever.

That is what this is all about. It is not about abuse of intellectual property rights. IP bitching is only the figleaf for the real issue; rewriting history, censoring books by dead white males, and general kikery of truth.
