>never once used sign-up social media>debloat all the systems I use, cover up cameras / mics I don't>keep most things irl + offline where possible, and everything is on tor>regularly fuck with my own proseI'd like to see them try + overreliance and hubris on tech just makes being a digital ghost easier and even more of a critical blindspot. So I'm insulated against the worst of it, and I can usually tell when I'm dealing with sloppa.
Based off of the formatting, I'd chuckle if your post about AI generated shit is written by an AI.You're on the money about "I'd bet that the majority of people won't even notice this shift", my mom nearly fell for an internet ad scam where they used face+voice AI sloppa to genuinely realistically impersonate a well known national consumer economist in my country into telling people to move their savings into an obvious crypto rugpull; and bless her asking me since she knew I run my own finances, but when I pointed out the dogwhistles (eg, not turning the head, static tone, etc), she looked at me like I was some s00per cyberpunk l337haxXx0r explaining netrunning to her. She even asked me to point it out to all her friends at some coffee morning, and they were bewildered too, not even being able to tell the difference even after I pointed it out, and only believed me after it had a message on the economist's site to be careful of this scam days later.
And that's just one scam with money involved, I dread to think what the average
hylic normalfag is going to contend with in terms of passive 'no-stakes' media consumption.
<create a<<<<implying you're not already living in oneThe dismal part is that you probably don't even know how good things used to be. You don't even have the frame of reference, you can't even conceptualise a polite, high trust society working toward the good of it's citizenry.
