Whilst it's unknown what the settlement was, in all likelihood, a few zoombies just got made instant millionaires for the trauma of using Tiktok.

I can understand Tiktok wanting to settle and move on from this, but I agree more with Meta and Google doubling down and fighting these junk lawsuits.

Let's be honest, we are all addicted to the net in some way, it has been going on since long before social media was a thing. I don't think people who get addicted to screens should be able to use it as an excuse for all life's problems and hit the ghetto lottery, it's a you problem at the end of the day, and parents need to be parents.

These junk lawsuits even proceeding to court in the first place is laughable, and are merely the latest evidence of what happens when you just let a bunch of couch potatoes and lawyers think up get rich quick schemes and get away with it. People gaming the system like this are technically not doing a crime, but it's still sleazeball shit you normally only see in movies.

It's one of the reasons why the term "litigation culture" has turned into an insult. Not defending ChinkTok in any way - if anything, they deserve worse - but if lawyers can use something this retarded as a legal argument, it will only be a matter of time until people can go to jail for dumb shit like misgendering a tranny online.
