They're not by definition. As bad as things are, the U.S. still doesn't misunderstand race to the same extent a country like Brazil does, where race is more of a matter of social perception than actual ancestry. The 56% percent thing comes from a personification of the U.S. as a whole and isn't saying that Actual-Americans are actually 56% percent white.

Uh oh, why did nobody tell early Americans that the Irish man who helped found their navy wasn't white? Or that two people of Irish ancestry signed the U.S. Constitution?

Even if people in the past had faulty views about race, which they sometimes did in the days before genetic science, that doesn't mean that those views shouldn't be corrected.

The only white Hispanics are criollos, and I imagine many of them are of questionable ancestry. I'm not a dirt worshiper don't have problems with genuinely white people coming to the U.S. legally from other parts of the world (although still I'd prefer limits on the number of immigrants of non-Germanic and non-Celtic background to maintain historical demographic continuity), but it's not exactly Ricardo Montalbans we're being flooded with. There are, there are handfuls of eastern diaspora that survive mostly in the mountainous areas, starting from south and east of the caucasus and extending through iran into afghanistan. Small numbers total, but they've been there since before most white people were demographically replaced outside of europe (compare to how there used to be significant white populations in north africa but they've at least to my knowledge gone extinct now).

Not to be too dismissive but I personally think this is too reductionist of a mindset. White people have historically been very diverse while still being white. If there were a genuine and fully realized white nationalist movement across all nations that has white minorities, I'm sure the differences wouldn't be any worse than individual variations across existing white nations. But I guess we'd never know unless that came to be anyway. Kind of at the limit of what my speculation can provide realistically anyway.

Who knows, maybe they'd slot into that "west asian" slot instead, and I've been misidentifying them as white. I would never have thought a Georgian or even Chechens weren't considered white, but it's fine if I was just wrong. It's interesting that some of the samples place some Turks and apparently most Ashkenazis squarely into the "european" camp though, goes to show how you can't use this as prescriptive rationale for how someone will behave or be. Also suggests not just admixture historically but that these larger groups were initially all more closely related as I claimed in my earlier post.
