Hi /oven/

I woke up hungry as fuck today, put my oven at 300C/572F, and threw some chicken coated with olive oil inside.
After 35 minutes the whole kitchen was filled with smoke and I had to remove every single firealarm and open every window, but the chicken tasted great.

But how do I avoid gassing myself next time?

Was it your oil or grease from having a dirty oven

Cook at a lower temperature. Try like 400-425F for chicken instead of cranking your oven to maximum.

You're heating the oil above its smoke point and its burning off.
