I think they actually used bits of the Halo video game OST in this trailer to bait people, because that was one of the complaints from the first season, that Paramount didn't use any of the music from the games. I remember in one of the trailers for season 1 they used a bad cover of In the Air Tonight and it did a poor job of setting the tone.

One of the Forerunner keystones is on Onyx, and the other is on the Covenant ship. Makee and Master Chief have to touch the artifacts at the same time to discover the location of a halo ring. Or something like that.

Arbiter branding himself as a heretic. In Halo 2 this scene was much more elaborate, he was in a Covenant council chamber, there were a whole bunch of Covenant elites, jackals, and grunts watching the heretic branding ceremony. Brutes were the ones who put the heretic brand on arbiter in the game while the prophets looked on.

I don't think we've seen a single grunt or prophet this entire season. We saw only one brute at the beginning of episode 5. Really goes to show how much lower the budget is for season two. I don't expect Paramount to renew this Halo show for a third season.

Yeah it's weird. And it's not just unseen enemies, but marines too. Like in the fourth episode during the battle of Reach, when Master Chief reunites with Riz. Chief and Riz give commands to a group of marines but we don't get to see the marines responding to Chief and Riz. We just hear their voices while the marines are offscreen.

WE'RE FINALLY GOING TO HALO!

In the Soren side plot, Soren finally reunites with his son in the middle of a Spartan training exercise. ONI Agents arrive and take away Soren's wife and son, leaving Soren on his own again. Not sure how well they could integrate this Soren side plot into the main conflict with Chief racing against Makee to the Halo ring. The Soren stuff has been dragged out for too long. Since Vannak and Riz have been written out of the show, I could see the writers try to get rid of Soren in the next episode, sacrificing himself in some way to save his son. Kai can probably be killed during the space battle against the Covenant over the Halo ring. That would leave Chief as the last surviving Spartan II for season three.

Last episode Miranda took some sort of index key from the mummified Forerunner. She took the key to an ONI lab. One of the other scientists tried to touch the inside of the key and slowly started going crazy. She touched a bunch of other people and stabbed another scientist. Some other people had to grab the woman and threw her into a holding cell next to Soren's wife and son. Ackerson is in a cell next to them. Looks like this is how the Flood spreads in the show. From the artifact that Miranda and Halsey found last episode.

In the games the flood spread because of the Covenant. When they were on the halo ring in the first game they tried to break open what they thought was some weapons cache but the flood was waiting inside for the Covenant instead. In the show the humans come into contact with the flood first.

I think so. Overall, I think the show is complementary to the game, but the first 2 episodes are actually better to go into blind. Excellent buildup.
The show's story is altered with some unique twists and turns the game didn't have, so you can't really go wrong either way.

The point of the Ostinato Musicians is that they're all highly disturbed characters desperate for escapism. They're not meant to be glorified.
Granted, the game's remake gives Sweet-P a lot more sympathy due to the additional route that lets you join the villains and make friends with them. But in the original game and anime, he's mostly a laughing stock.
