recently ive taken up playing indies these days
i feel AAA games are too expensive and bloated with stupid checklists that consist of meaningless busy work
you pay top dollar… and they often aren't optimized well or can recieve updates that ruin the experience
indies are not only cheaper but you're in the pure gameloop much faster; open and play right away
no latest cutting edge visuals but theyve got striking unique artstyles instead

That's smart on their part to add in a worthless AR gimmick to deal with people that play their games on other hardware. More and more cheap ARM and x86 tablets are going to come out that will be more than powerful enough to play their games through emulation. 4 cents worth of an ASIC to do AR can potentially cut down enormously on piracy and require every game have it patched out if that's even feasible.

Add in tie ins for scanning associated products or at their theme parks and this could be a significant advantage for them.

I had a GameCube and liked it, but outside of a few Nintendo games like Super Smash Bros. I was mainly into third-party releases like the TimeSplitters games and Soul Calibur II that you could get on the PS2. Is there anything in particular you want to play on those consoles you mentioned?

I would just recommend going the FPGA route for anything before the fifth generation at this point unless there's a specific console you'd like to own. For me, the NES, SNES, and Genesis are the ones I've always been most attached to since I was a kid.

Perhaps twilight princess on the gamecube but I have a totally legit copy on my wii. I also really have always wanted to play sonic adventure on the dreamcast, quake 3 as well. I have played Q3 for over 15 years and I've actually gotten worse over time.

for switch emulation the vram doesn't really matter as long as you have some amount of it, the worst desktop GPU I've seen people use on it is the Nvidia GT 710

I recently got the extra modchips added to make mine 128MB of ram and got an LCD screen installed in front of it. No foolin' you really don't need other game consoles, the OG basically has a lifetime of shit to play on it and it's probably the easiest to customize console ever made. I just beat Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy on it and it was 10/10 breddy fun.
