Apparently Oliver Tree died today in a mid-air helicopter crash in Brazil. Maybe it's another prank, but there's a lot of sources taking this as real. Also killed in the incident, which some are still holding out on as another one of Oliver's pranks, is: Argentinian Youtuber Gaspar "Gaspi" Prim, Argentinian video producer Lucas Vignale, Brazilian music producer Lucas Brito Chaves, and pilots Alexandre Souza and Charles Marsillac.

If true, rip Oliver.

His music was hip-hop leaning but he varied himself across different genres.

 No.3613

Three things:
1. Oliver Tree had just spent months fighting with Atlanta Records because they tried forcing him to make music that would be more marketable on Tiktok. Allegedly, he threatened to leave and they threatened him that his career would tank without them. He left anyway and released the album on his own label just as he was getting his world tour off the ground.
2. Allegedly, he had just fired his manager for making pro-Israeli remarks.
3. If you look at the footage of the impact, the helicopter that Oliver and the others were on was going in a specific direction. The other helicopter sure looks like it angled itself for an impact in a murder-suicide. The pilot of the helicopter that crashed into them had a history of illegal activity and resulting fines, including a past firing for unsafe practices.

This sure seems like a corporate hit to me.

Not only that, but any vehicle can be configured to be piloted remotely, so you don't even need a suicidal to do a kamikaze.

Personally I doubt that but in today dystopian bullshit, who knows. All I know is that the Brazilians are saying they recovered six bodies. Five from the one chopper, and the sole pilot from the other chopper that crashed into them. There's video of the impact, from a distance, but to me it seems like the sole pilot was gunning straight towards them. I dare say you can see it changing its angle to do so.

Maybe there was a person in the other helicopter, maybe there wasn't. It makes no difference because they can hijack it and control it remotely. That's how they killed Michael Hastings.

I'm making a new summer playlist. Share what's on yours, and by that I mean type the actual list out rather than dump videos. No holds barred, any genre, any decade, obscure or mainstream, it doesn't matter. I'm open to all ideas.

I don't have one, but The Lemon Fog seems appropriate. They also have a very small discography. You can listen to everything they ever recorded in under an hour, and that's including outtakes and such.

I put a thread like this up years ago that didn't go anywhere, but let's give this another shot. Talk about anything related to making music here, whether it's instruments, effects units, software, composition, general production, or anything else related to making music.

I had one of these in my closet I just started messing around with. I've done a decent amount of FM synthesis in the past, including a YM2612-based software synth, but I think it's going to take a bit of getting used to. While it's nice to not have to sit and stare into a tiny screen like you're usually forced to do on FM hardware synths without an editor, the sliders are tiny. Small, incremental parameter changes can cause noticeable differences in sound, so it's a bit fiddly to work with. Maybe I'll try to see if I can replicate software patches I've made before.

Thanks, I think I lot of doom and gloom we're seeing in western society is just boomers kvetching about their inevitable mortality and the changing world that will not be modeled by them and the future that their TV promised them.
The next decade will be transformative, we're no longer in a transitional period where everyone is just waiting to see what happens.

But whatever happens in these turbulent times, be sure to find your moments of peace and tranquility.
